Finding something to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays can be a challenge, so we’ve come up with a list of fun things to do in Mandurah these spring school holidays.

1. Join Mandurah Cruises for a 1-Hour Dolphin Cruise & Views where the kids will have a blast spotting our playful local dolphins, seeing a Western Rock Lobster catch demonstration and driving the boat through the canals from the junior captains helm. Kids Cruise FREE with the $68 family pass!

2. Leap, hop or wriggle into the Critters Conservation Centre in the Mandurah Forum. This interactive and educational experience allows kids and families top get up close and personal with some of Western Australia’s most fascinating flora and fauna.

3. Have gravity-defying fun at Flip Out Mandurah. The kids (and kids at heart) will be bouncing, back flipping, cannon-balling into foam pits and more. As well as their main trampoline arena, they have a massive parkour arena, ninja warrior course and battle beam zone.

4. Watch one of the new release family movies at Reading Cinemas Mandurah – Trolls World Tour, Cats and Dogs 3: Paws Unite! and The Secret Garden – or get the best of both worlds with our Cruise and Movie events.

5. Head to the Mandurah city centre to see the Transformers live & in action with heaps of FREE entertainment & photo opportunities with everyone’s favourite Autobots – Optimus Prime & Bumblebee! 30th September at Mandjar Square, 1st October at Dolphin Quay and 2nd October at the Eastern Foreshore.

6. Check out the NEW Falcon Skate Park where Skate Boarding WA will be hosting a Girls Only Skate Clinic on Saturday 3rd October and Best Trick Jam on Friday 9th October.

7. Learn how to fish these school holidays on Mandurah Cruises 2.5-Hour Family Fishing Day – Kids Cruise FREE! OR head to one of the many great spots in Mandurah – jetties, rockwalls and beaches – to fish from. Don’t forget your Recreational Fishing Guide and to take your fishing line and rubbish home with you so it doesn’t end up in our waterways.

8. Let the kids climb the walls at Mandurah Indoor Rock Climbing. It’s suitable for all ages with no experience necessary and is a great challenge and confidence builder. They also offer trapeze and ninja classes!

9. There’s plenty happening at the Mandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre – Take the kids to bounce and climb their way through the super fun pool inflatable sessions: Aquatron indoor (ages 6+) & MARCzilla outdoor (ages 8+) and play in the heated kids water playground OR get your skates on for the Roller Disco taking place on the 26th September.

10.  Bounce on into Inflatable World Mandurah. It’s one of the biggest Indoor Inflatable Playgrounds in Australia and is all about having fun.

11. Get along to Spring Sensory Science at Lakelands Shopping Centre where the kids can learn to make their own Slime, Kaleidoscope and/or Clay Creature with the freedom fairies. The FREE activities run from 1st to 7th October, 11am to 2pm daily.

12. Take the family along to the Wetlands Weekender Festival (10th – 11th October) which celebrates the start of the migratory bird season. Events include: ‘Wonders of our Wetlands – Family Day’ where there will be markets, live music, cultural storytelling, food & coffee vans and kids corner with crab origami, paint your own shorebird stencil, nature playdough, wetland waterbugs and a scavenger hunt. ‘Pave the Way Clean Up Day’ – a feel good family event cleaning up Coodanup foreshore and having a FREE lunch.

13. Have a picnic lunch/dinner of fish & chips by the water at the Mandurah Eastern Foreshore or at Dolphin Quay in the Mandurah Ocean Marina where there’s plenty of play equipment for the kids, paths for them to ride their bikes and scooters and a great children’s swimming beach ‘The Lido’.

14. Make family photos a fun adventure with Mandurahs awesome Insta public art trail which includes marine wildlife 3D art pavement paintings, floral swing mural, giant lobster, crab and dolphins, heart frame, giant deckchair and more.

15. The Billy Dower Youth Centre has some awesome FREE workshops targeted at teens including gaming days, barista skills, resume writing and interview skills, drama fundamentals, boxing classes and more.

16. Visit King Carnival for a game off 18-hole mini golf, arcade games and rides galore. Open daily from 10am to 5pm, they have a special spring holidays offer: Buy ten rides of your choice for just $50. WA’s biggest showbag operator will also be there 26th – 28th September!

17. Check out the great program of FREE school holiday activities at the Mandurah, Falcon and Lakelands libraries. There’s something for all ages with a range of arts, crafts and science workshops for 5-12 year olds.

18. All aboard “The Spirit of Mandurah” – Big Toot Tour with the Tourist Fun Train Company. It stops at 10 designated Stations around the City (from the Eastern Foreshore to the Mandurah Ocean Marina). You can hop on and off all day and kids are FREE!

19. Enjoy a game of Disc Golf at Hall Park on the Western Foreshore. It’s a FREE nine basket course and a fun game for the whole family.

20. If the kids are after a bit of adventure on their bikes then check out the Mandurah BMX Track – It’s free and open every day. Next to the track is Caterpillar Park which is the perfect playground for the younger ones, spread out across a big naturally shady and fenced space. There are also basketball courts, BBQ’s, undercover bench/tables and toilets on site.

21. Two playgrounds that are a must visit in Mandurah these holidays are Quarry Park in Meadow Springs and Harbour Playground in Secret Harbour. They are huge, modern playgrounds that will keep the kids busy for hours! Both parks also have BBQ facilities, picnic shelters and paths to ride bikes and scooters.

22. The Mandurah Performing Arts Centre have some great family events these spring holidays including  Alice in Wonderland Theatre Show and FREE Pop Up Art Activation days featuring fun art and craft activities, 6th – 8th October from 10am to 2pm.

23. Explore and be active with the kids on a bike ride. There’s excellent cycle paths in the city centre and along the coast OR head out to Dwellingup where you’ll find some great family mountain biking tracks including Marrinup Cycle Trail and Lane Poole Reserve.

24. Get the kids out exploring the natural world, enhancing their connection with nature. Ways to Nature run some great interactive family tours including the Samphire Sojourn Guided Nature Walk, where you’ll explore the incredible wetlands spotting birdlife, reptiles, kangaroos, other wildlife and flora.

25. Looking for a sweet treat? Indulge in some chocolatey goodness from San Churro Mandurah where if you show your Dolphin & Scenic Marine Cruise ticket you’ll receive ‘Buy 1 Churros, Get 1 FREE‘! OR head into Simmo’s Ice Creamery where there’s over 39 flavours of ice cream to choose from every day and great milkshakes, sundaes, banana splits, hot waffles, coffee & cake.

26. There’s some fun outdoor activities taking place on the Dawesville Foreshore including a Tie-Dye Workshop on Tuesday 29th September and Laser Tag on Monday 5th October.

Only a short drive from Mandurah…

27. Get lost at Mandurah Amaze Miniature Park! It features an extensive display of scale model miniature buildings and railways, a huge hedge maze, 12-hole mini golf course, playground and picnic area and incredible landscaped gardens.

28. Enjoy a unique, hands on experience at Ranger Red’s Zoo, with a range of animals you can feed and hold. Hand feed kangaroos, sheep, deer, goats & emus, hold a snake, lizard, ferret & rufous bettong, walk through the open aviary and see 100+ species of birds/animals. They also have a Junior Zookeeper 4 A Day program.

29. Visit WA’s best playground – Adventurescape South Yunderup! This farm themed playground will keep the kids occupied for hours with a 35m flying fox, giant pig cubby house, 9m tall climing windmill tower and slide, fence maze, swings, fibreglass animal sculptures and more. There are also BBQ facilities, picnic shelters and paths to ride bikes and scooters.

30. Get climbing at Trees Adventure in Dwellingup. It will have all the family swinging, leaping, climbing and flying through the forest with exciting and challenging obstacle courses, suitable for all ages.

31. Spring is the best time of year to jump on board Hotham Valley’s Steam Train which climbs Western Australia’s steepest and most spectacular section of railway, through the Darling Range or tour the beautiful Jarrah Forest from Dwellingup to Etmilyn on their historic Dwellingup Forest Train.

32. Visit Caraholly Orchard in Dwellingup. During the school holidays they are open every Sunday with tractor rides, cow feeding, hot coffee, yummy food, amazing range of fresh fruit and vegetables and more.

33. Sunset Horse Tours offer family friendly horse-riding experiences including their popular ‘Own A Horse For a Day’ school holiday events for 5-16 year olds, 2 hour and 4 hour horse riding experiences and more.

34. Serpentine Falls in Serpentine National Park offers a great day out for the family. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy a hike and family time on the huge grassy picnic and play area. There have shaded picnic tables, gas barbeques and toilets onsite.

35. Get the kids off the screens and out into the environment with the great school holiday program at the Forest Discovery Centre in Dwellingup, featuring a night ramble spotlighting tour on 8th October and Teddy Bears Bush Picnic Ride on 30th October. There’s also an activities zone, walk trails, tree top platform and more at the centre which is open every day.
